In an effort to consistently deliver these solutions we work hard to make the best buying and inventory decisions and to recommend the right shoes for you based on careful measurement, podiatric health and intended use. While we do not stock "seconds" or shoes of inferior quality, customers regularly express their pleasant surprise with respect to price and value. We also offer further price reductions on select styles based on inventory level. These outstanding values can be found on our second floor, along with our children's play area. It is not true that all independent shoe stores are more expensive than national or regional chains. Customer service has always been a passion at Alec’s shoe store. Alec was twenty-one years old when he and his father opened the original Alec’s Shoes on West Pearl Street in 1938. He believed then, as all of us at Alec’s believe today, that satisfied customers are the true measure of success in the retail trade.
Over the years the business has grown in size and product range. After surviving major shifts in the industry’s manufacturing structure and a complete rebuilding due to a devastating fire in 1960, Alec’s Shoes now encompasses over 40,000 square-feet and three levels at its Main Street location in the center of downtown Nashua. You'll find a wide range of styles, including the latest in athletic footwear, men's and women's shoes, and many choices in style and price for the entire family. Yet to this day we continue in the same tradition of providing the best possible service and customer care. We are proud to have served multiple generations of many local families, and are proud that our staff knows many of you by name and style preference; and above all, we are proud of your loyal patronage.
